Quem está chegando ao Rio de Janeiro para um show imperdível é o inquieto e performático Matthw Paul Miller, que nas horas de reflexão atende pelo nome de Matisyahu. Sua música está fazendo sucesso pela fusão do reggae clássico, que incorporou do ídolo Bob Marley, com o judaísmo ortodoxo. Os resultados são mais que surpreendentes sem necessariamente serem chatos, como é a maioria dos que fundem fé e música.

Natural da cidade de West Chester, na Pensilvânia, e criado no subúrbio de Nova York, Matisyahu – versão hebraica de Mateus, o evangelista, que ele adotou depois da conversão – junta hip-hop, reggae e rap sem precisar falar palavrão, sem simular uma arma na cabeça nem para matar muito menos para ser morto.

Nessa One Day, Matisyahu tenta ser um mensageiro da paz, como “meta prioritária, como caminho”.

No sábado, Matisyahu se apresenta no Circo Voador, no Rio de Janeiro, se o grande deus da chuva deixar. Para abrir o show ele vai cantar essa One Day, que tem versos como “Às vezes, eu me afogo em minhas lágrimas, mas não deixo isso me abalar”.
